Guided by an actions list and assisted by a bag of tools, Kurt West is utilizing found objects, conditions and materials toward inserting constructions within the indeterminate urban locations of Washington D.C. With interventions that are simultaneously subtle and direct, that could make you stop in wonder or pass by oblivious. West examines what we often ignore and holds it out so we can see what is it, is not, or could be. He will be exploring the alleys, underpasses, parking lots, loading docks, dog houses, fences, niches, and worm holes from late May through the middle of August in the Petworth neighborhood. Maps and directions will be posted here as relevant or required. A reception will be held on August 10th (look for posters on telephone poles in the neighborhood for locations).
